Consolation Thoughts

An Excerpt from Living a Joyful Life as a Mom and Wife by Tiffany Tyndall — The Entirety of 7. Epilogue

Regardless of the matters of personality, style, energy, creativity, or ambition, we can be joyful in spite of the work load and the demands that come with staying at home.  It is largely a choice at first, meaning that we won’t always feel like cracking a smile (or a joke) when we’re trying to do a chore.  But if we can see things from a broader perspective, we’ll be able to better see how everything will fit together if we will just keep going forward.

As we decide to be ourselves while working on ourselves, we will find that it will get progressively easier to enjoy ourselves and our life.  So let our focus be on appreciating the value of our life’s work, on increasing the effect of the influence we already bear as mothers and wives.  May we make it our mission to pass on to our children and husband a legacy of true love – a love that is unconditional, enduring, and reassuring.  And through this, may we grow in understanding as we come to accept and celebrate ourselves as we are while we press ahead for what we will yet become.

To all people everywhere but especially to the stay-at-home moms and housewives, let us now continue to do what we do with kindness and generosity, our hearts full of joy.
