You Can Do It

An Excerpt from Thoughts for Effective Living by Tiffany Tyndall — The Entirety of 37. Self-Responsibility

I will meet others half way, but I will not walk their road for them.

When it becomes apparent to me that I’m being expected to carry more than my own life and responsibilities, then I will do what I need to do to regain the proper balance in my life and in the relationship.

Other people can get for themselves the help that they need, as I have done and am doing.

I cannot make everyone else’s problems go away if they are not willing to do the work involved (painful as it may be) to help themselves.

It is up to each person to participate in self-assessment and to take action as needed.

I can only take inventory of myself and do what is necessary to affect positive change in my own life.
