An Excerpt from 7 De-stressing Strategies for Effective Living by Tiffany Tyndall — Half of The Introduction: What “it” is

We all know what “it” is.

Stress!  And anxiety, worry, fear, pressure, oppression, and depression.  Anything that hinders our ability to live a carefree, light-hearted life.

We all know what contributes to it, too.

Competition. The desire to be the best (instead of our best).

Comparison.  Seeing how we measure up to others (instead of using an objective standard of excellence).

Co-dependency.  Seeking approval, acceptance, and purpose from something or someone outside of ourselves (instead of looking within and beyond ourselves).

So let’s do something about it.

Instead of continuing on, letting the mounting stresses continue to pile on and overload our life when we really weren’t meant to carry much of this stress stuff at all, let’s choose a different path—one that will lead to more happiness, more health, and more wholeness.  Plus the freedom to be more of who we really are.

As I have reflected over my own life—one of ups, downs, twists, turns, bumps, lumps, thrills, and joys, I can see patterns of being, frameworks for living well, and ways of approaching life with optimism, grace, and compassion that enabled me to keep going and to keep growing no matter what I encountered.  I would like to share with you seven de-stressing strategies that have helped me live an effective life, at every stage at which I’ve found myself.
