Parenting well involves giving good guidance with an undercurrent of understanding. This means that that we do speak up when it’s time to redirect but that we also include empathy in our approach to guiding our children onto better paths. We don’t have to be all redirection and no gentleness. It’s about both. Use your voice to communicate kind correction. This is how we accomplish the tender nurturing that our children need from us and that we want to give to them.
