This is a must. Separate from everything that causes unnecessary anxiety, contributes to elevated levels of anxiety, and gives you anxiety about anxiety. Do not take it onto yourself or into your personhood. Separate out yourself from the things that you feel. Learn to recognize what triggers your anxiety, and get good at de-escalating the anxiety if and when it starts to rise. You don’t have to go along with anxiousness. You can resist it. But you have to be able to know when you’re in it (or going to be in it) and then be focused about separating from it—as soon as you sense that it’s near or is about to be upon you (if it isn’t yet already).
