No matter what happens, don’t stoop. Don’t stoop to any lower level that anyone else might operating at. We are where we are in life because of the fact that we haven’t taken the low road. We take the high road as much as it depends on us. And it shows. So there is absolutely no need to stoop—even if we feel like there’s no other way. Do what you do—and do what you know you need to do. What other people are doing and how they are handling their lives and their stressors and their obstacles is completely irrelevant to what we know that we must do. Somehow, we see it—we realize the connection between the choices we make now and the life that we live later. And because of that understanding, we bear responsibility for how we choose to respond to situations in this moment and how things play out within us in future moments (while still understanding that there will always be things that we have no control over—may God grant us the wisdom to know the difference between the things we can change and the things we cannot).
