As soon as we feel tension and stress, we can release it. We don’t have to hang on to it or hold it in our body. We can feel relaxed and loose and limber all the time. The moment we are aware that our muscles are tightening up from the pressures of the day, we can take a minute and breathe it all out. We can let go of the tenseness that we feel in our muscles. Keeping all the tension inside isn’t going to help the situation any, and it certainly doesn’t help us any. The more relaxed we can feel—even in the midst of stressful situations—the better we will be able to respond in thoughtful and helpful ways.
