Making Progress

You’ll notice that you’ll have fewer and fewer times when you wish you would have responded better and more and more days when you are proud of how you handled yourself.  Not that we are proud in and of ourselves.  But that we feel good that we are accomplishing a most important goal for ourselves—that of self-control and well-expressed loving-kindness.  Our children and our spouse are the benefactors of this effort—and it has a profound healing effect on ourselves in that our good efforts now wash over the hurt we might still have from our childhood and from our past relationships.
